60 is just two 30's!
I got up the morning of my birthday and I felt remarkably good! Nothing ached, nothing fell off and I didn't have to install anything, other than glasses. But, hey, I have had "four eyes" since 7th grade, so that has nothing to do with old age.
I got many messages of from old school chums on Facebook and other friends along the way. I got cards and even Mike thought my birthday was an occasion for flowers, which shocked me no end!
I checked my email and got this picture. wow...it brought me to tears. My sweet little people drew me a picture and then posed for this picture. It is a keeper for sure. I look in their eyes and see all the youth that is long gone from my face. Their skin is like new and their smiles are pure delight. I can almost dive into the picture and kiss them until they giggle. I am blessed to have them in my life.
so, I am a year older and a decade older at the same time. I feel good, I can almost touch my toes again and I am strong. I can dig in the garden, sit in the sun and enjoy my days. It is ok to be 60.

Meme goes Video Happy...
I am trying to figure out how to do little videos of the grandkids. This is my first attempt. It is just Peyton eating, or telling me he was hungry. After fixing apples, juice and crackers, he decided he wasn't all that hungry. Just look at that little face! How can anyone get mad a such a precious little face.

Tori and Malcolm
I cannot adequately verbalize how delighted and happy I was to have an old friend come into my life. It is rare that we can meet up with someone that we haven't spoken a word to in 42 years and reunite as if it weren't more than 42 minutes ago.
I call Tori and her husband my "treasure". In life, you get used to things being a certain way. I know that Mike is going to leave his slippers in a place I will trip over! This is a truism and a constant, like the sun coming up in the East and setting in the West. I know that babies make me babble like an idiot and the our American flag will make me cry. So, when something comes into my life, that I didn't see coming, it is like digging up a buried treasure.
Several months ago, Tori and I connected on Facebook. We hadn't seen each other in virtually 42 years, except for a short chat at one of our class reunions. She remember me, but I don't even remember talking to her, as there were so many people.
After saying Hi on Facebook, one of us emailed the other. It seemed we both got married the same year and had daughters...2 for me and 1 for her. She has an Eryn and I have an Erin. We both have granddaughters and puff up when we talk of our little people. One email led to another and then it became a daily writing. If she doesn't write, it doesn't see that my day will start out right. I call it my Tori chat.
After weeks of writing, Gary came west and Tori and husband, Malcolm, had us over for a lovely dinner. She invited several other people over...Ernie Lewis and wife, Jeff Vangilder, Gary...a great group of guys from "the hood". It was as if we didn't miss a beat.
When another kid came up from California, Jim, Tori had another BBQ, but we were unable to attend. More were added to the mix. Of course, the more people that attend the more reasons I have not to appear. I really don't like groups. I am backwards for sure.
Yesterday, was my day to have Malcolm and Tori up at my house. We had such a good laugh. We sat around and ate, went around town and visited sites she had an interest to see and came home to dessert and coffee. It was one of the best days I can remember. Felt good and I know somewhere, her dad is enjoying our visits, too.

The Boy turns 2.

We had a small gathering up here in Port Angeles and here are some of the pictures I liked. I am no Ansel Adams, but digital makes life so much easier. The weather held off and we could have a bit of a picnic until the wind kicked up and we moved inside after we got done eating.
Randy and Cheryl came and brought mom. Erin was here, but Victor had a chance to cut a winter's worth of firewood and had to take advantage of the good fortune.
I had such a good time and hope everyone else did too. It was so nice for Cheryl and Randy to get to really play and visit with my grandkids. When we usually gather, it is at his house and his grandkids are there and no real time to sit and visit with my little guys.
After the cake, Peyton lost his shirt and decided digging in the dirt was pretty fun. He found a place in my garden spot and sat down and made a mess. I love it! It has been a long time since there were little people in my garden finding bugs and rocks.
He pretty much destroyed his personal cake. He did share it with anyone who wanted to. Cheryl go several nice bites and one for his Sissy.
I like this one. Open up...here comes the airplane!
