It is fall...land pumpkins

Peyton and I planted seeds that I had saved from pumpkins long passed. He didn't understand how those seeds could possibly grow into a pumpkin. As the seeds began to germinate and sprout, he revisited the plot of dirt and would just be so pleased that something was growing. He still didn't think they could make a pumpkin, but certainly, something was green and growing.

Soon flowers appeared and that was exciting. It was green and now these funny golden flowers. There seemed to be a lot and Peyton loved the idea there were flowers. When he discovered the green little nubbings of the fruit, it was just better and better.

There are 18 nice big pumpkins and they are turning orange. But, they weren't orange fast enough. I remembered we also planted some of the tiny pumpkins that I had gotten from Erin's mantel decorations after Halloween had passed. We planted them and off we went to look for something there. Under a leaf was ONE, lonely little tiny pumpkin and
was screaming in delight. We picked it immediately and he carried it all over the house,
his bedroom, ate with it and I think would have bathed with it, but I refused to
let that happen.

Here he is...proud as a peacock.
